First, turn your top inside out and then find the center line on the back by measuring halfway across and marking with a fabric pencil. Cut the shirt down the center of the back. Fold over and pin each edge 3/4 of an inch. Sew a straight stitch down each edge, trim everything up nice. If you don't have a sewing machine, you can also use some ol' stitch witchery to tack down the seams.
I bought these pre-made bows from hobby lobby, there are different colors and you can just sew them on with a needle and thread. I spaced these out 3.5 inches but you can space them however you like. I like to leave the bottom open just a bit. This will create a chic little upcycled blouse that can easily transition from day to night! Upcycling clothing is good for the environment and is an inexpensive way spice up your wardrobe . You can also make money by selling upcycled clothes- see my Fashion Business Ideas page for quick biz tips.
